Primo Rocks

I think I now know how parents feel when they just spent $100 on the most amazing new toy for their children, only to have the kids spent 6 hours making the box for the toy into a fort.  Primo began exploring the great outdoors today and definitely likes snow, dirt, and folding chairs way more than the boatload of toys we bought for him.  He even picked up a rain gutter in his mouth and tried to walk away.  (We're going to have to bolt those down better when he gets bigger.)  Other interesting developments:

1.  He's learning how to dig.  Granted, he's just pawing at landscape rocks now, but I think that's the gateway drug to digging what equates to small smuggling tunnels under the neighbor's fence.

2.  He spent 30 minutes playing with one of those landscaping rocks.  He was so intent on the rock that he kept turning his back on me when I tried to take pictures.  His only distractions were the periodic crashes and cussing coming from another neighbor who was trying to hang Christmas lights.

A staring contest with the rock

3.  He's ringing the potty bells just to go hang-out on the deck.  (We're trying to train Preems to ring bells by the door whenever he has to go to the bathroom.)  For the record, I'm thrilled that the little guy is linking the bells to the yard.  BUT - he wants to go outside all the time.  And it's like a squirrel highway out there, so that should be interesting.

Fortunately, with all that outdoor excitement comes extreme exhaustion.

  1. Way to go on the potty bell. There should be a secret group for those who feel happy from success in potty training.
